Alexey Potapov is an electric and classical guitarist with a wide musical range.
Born in Volgograd, Russia, he spent most of his life in Moscow, where he established himself as a musician in the field of contemporary music and music theatre. He now lives in Germany. He is a graduate of the University of Music Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden, as well as the Bern University of the Arts in Switzerland and the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory.

As a soloist and ensemble member, Alexey Potapov has collaborated with renowned music ensembles and orchestras, including the Vienna State Opera, Berliner Philharmoniker orchestra, the Dresden Staatskapelle, Camerata Bern, Ensemble Modern, Ensemble Mosaik, «United Berlin,» «Unfeed Format,» CEAM Artists, and the Russian State Academic Symphony Orchestra “Evgeny Svetlanov” (conducted by Vladimir Jurowski), among others.

Alexey Potapov is particularly fascinated by improvisational music. In this field, he has collaborated with renowned artists such as Paulo Álvares, Karlheinz Essl, John Edwards, Franz Hautzinger, Yuriy Yaremchuk, Alexey Kruglov, Alexander Chernyshkov, and others.

Alexey Potapov has participated in major contemporary music festivals, including Musiktheatertage Wien, the “Error” Theater (Austria), the Darmstadt Summer Course (Germany), the Bludenz Days of Contemporary Music (Austria), Sommerwerft (Frankfurt am Main, Germany), the Cage Award (Halberstadt, Germany), and ReMusik (St. Petersburg, Russia).

His concerts have captivated audiences in various cities such as Berlin, Cologne, Frankfurt am Main, Dresden, Vienna, Warsaw, Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and others.
